More detailed information on the "National CCTV Improvement Week 2012"

Given the breadth of "Stakeholders" with a vested interest in the effective use of CCTV, it has long been accepted that for many systems, a number of improvements could be made in certain key areas, to help raise operator efficiency, and consequently improve the suitability of recorded "CCTV Product", for use during criminal investigations and any subsequent court proceedings.

The idea of encouraging CCTV users to review their operations and carry out basic improvements, would undoubtedly help to raise standards in overall image quality, data compliance, privacy concerns, and admissibility of recordings for evidential use in a 'Forensic Surveillance' role.

As part of the ongoing TRUSTED© CCTV Improvement Project, a range of documents and work practices are being developed to assist users in evaluating the effectiveness of their existing CCTV systems, in key areas of operation.

As well as providing tangible benefits for both law enforcement agencies and the wider Criminal Justice System, it would undoubtedly also be of significant interest to a broad range of related organisations, including for example ACPO, ASC, BSIA, CAST, CPS, HMRC, Home Office, ICO, NPIA, PCMA, SOCA, UK Police Service, VIIDO, to name but a few.

Organisations and sectors thought most likely to benefit from participation in the "National CCTV Improvement Week 2012", include Local Authorities, hospitals, schools, colleges and universities, retailers, banks and building societies, petrol retailers, hotels, shopping centres, commercial premises, museums, airports, train and bus stations, sports stadia, pubs and bars, department stores, leisure parks, CCTV manufacturers, installers and consultants .... and the list goes on!

It is thought likely that the "National CCTV Improvement Week 2012" would most readily benefit from the positive support of a major partner / sponsor, along with an open invitation for any interested parties or organisations to be listed online as active "Supporters" of the event.

What is the TRUSTED Project?

Originally launched back in 2007, the concept of improving video surveillance performance, is based squarely on the idea of achieving useful "Target Recognition Using Surveillance Technology for Evidence and Detection", or TRUSTED for short.

The latest stages of the project are intended to address a number of everyday operational issues and problems, which are considered to be in urgent need of redress.
